Together they arranged the furniture, sat down on the bench and started to set up the game.
Kyle: "I gathered all the silver game pieces in my left hand, placed the ring next to them in my palm and took a deep breath. This was it."
Kyle turned and presented the selection to Sarah, who already had in her mind that she was going to be the thimble. "Here, pick your piece," he said. When he saw her expression he asked, "Sarah, will you marry me?"
Sarah: "I glanced at the pieces in his hand and when I saw the ring I just couldn't hold in my excitement. All I wanted to do at that moment was hug him. I think I said yes a thousand times. And I kept saying it the rest of the night."
She took the ring, "I think I'll use this piece." And then she asked him to put it on her finger. "And it fits perfectly," he noted proudly. "I didn't even have to have it sized."
Kyle: "When I was at the jeweler after picking out the ring we checked the size and it was a five, which was what Sarah wore. The woman who was helping me said that never happens because most rings are made in a larger size. She said it was a good sign."
The next fifteen minutes were spent calling loved ones to share the good news. Kyle's friend and partner in planning, Chris, showed up to snap a few photos of the happy couple. It was a good day.
